Professional Shotgun Microphone - with Hot Shoe connection
The Alctron VM-6 is a professional low noise shotgun style condenser microphone designed for use with digital video cameras and camcorders. Made for ultimate portability, the VM-6 is battery powered, compact, and has an integrated shock mount to climate unwanted handling noise.
Hot Shoe Mount Compatible
The VM-6 features a standard camera "hotshoe" mount on the underside of the shock mount. This will fit onto most modern cameras featuring the same size industry standard mount. The Alctron Video Microphone also features a 3/8" thread for attachment to a boom pole or stand, when a connection to a camera is not an option.
Battery Powered Portability
Alctron's VM-6 is battery powered off of a single 9V battery, allowing for easy transport and maximum movement, perfect for field recordings when power is not available. Simply push up, then pull out the battery cover located on the front of the microphone to change the battery and give yourself up to 70 hours of continuous use.
Filter and Level Controls
Included on the Alctron VM-6 is a Low Cut / High Pass Filter (HPF) and three-way pad. All within a fingers reach, the controls are conveniently placed at the rear of the camera mic, so they can be operated and accessed with ease. When selected, the HPF cuts off low frequency noise and can assist in removing unwanted mechanical, road or other background sounds. The pad switch can be selected between -10db, 0db and +20db to reduce or increase the input level of the microphone.
Handy Tip: When recording audio to a camera, it is best to reduce the internal camera volume as much as possible, selecting the +20dB input level and then working down from there to find an ideal level. The VM-6 works best with a cameras "Auto Gain Control" switched off.
